Installation of Timechamp V4 Interactive Version in Linux

Step 1: Login into your Time Champ account

Step 2: To install the application, click on download agent.

Step 3: Select the operating system of your computer Linux.

Step 4: If you would like to install the application on your admin account system, please select 'To Install Yourself'.

The application will then be installed on the super admin account.

If you would like to install the application on your employee’s system, Select To install for employees.

Click on To install for employees

Step 5: Linux>To install for employees

Please select the installation mode (Interactive).

Interactive: Employees can see the tracker running in their system. The employees will have the ability to pause and resume it.

Step 6: Linux>To install for employees>Interactive

If you select interactive, you can see two options- 

Manual: You need to share the username and password with the employees to log in to the application. It is for the existing user.

Automatic: There is no need to provide any credentials to the employees. The user will be created automatically on the site based on

the system username, and the tracker will also be logged using the same system username automatically.

Step 7: Click on the Checkbox I understand all the above and click on download.

Step 8: You will see a zip file in the downloads folder.

Ensure that the Time Champ file name is exactly 'TimeChamp'.

The file should be in the Downloads folder only.

If the TimeChamp file is inside any subfolder of Downloads or other folders, the application will not install properly.

Step 9: Unzip the Timechamp.zip file.

 

Open the Timechamp folder.
Here you can see two files- License and timechamp-linux_64bit-setup.bash.

Step 10:  Open the terminal from this path.

Step 11: Run the following command to install the application:

bash timechamp-linux_64bit-setup.bash.

or 

chmod 777 timechamp-linux_64bit-setup.bash

./timechamp-linux_64bit-setup.bash

You can see the tracker running on your system like this.
